Bal D’Afrique is one of the best smelling Byredo’s, but it’s plagued by seriously underwhelming performance.
Bal D’Afrique has this soapy, airy and clean vetiver with a hint of fruitiness and sweetness. There’s some acidity, but to my nose there’s also a bit of a plasticy vibe, which drags my rating down a little bit. However, it’s a great crowd-pleasing scent and it’s not hard to see why so many people love it.
As mentioned, the longevity on my skin was abysmal; one of the worst that I’ve encountered and I’ve tested it several times throughout the years, with no luck.
