I was able to wear this in high heat, where I think it worked really well. It’s a grassy citrus fragrance, with a strong ozonic and marine-like accord. Avanto translates to ‘hole in the ice’, and to my nose it has this watery scent, quite similar to Hermann A Mes Cotes by Etat Libre D’Orange. And just as with Hermann, the airy water vibe is mixed with a soft green grass.
The citrus in Avanto is really toned down is more comparable to a couple of drops of lemon juice in a glass of water, rather than natural citrus. It’s pleasant and relaxing, but not juicy and bright as many Summer citrus fragrances are. The ‘sea notes’ are also understated. It doesn’t have the saltiness from a sea breeze, ambergris heavy scent, nor the ambroxan like punch from blue designer fragrances. It’s soft, clean, airy and subtle. To me, Avanto doesn’t have the bright refreshing quality that you might expect, but more so a calming quality akin to a green tea and it’s more of a floral scent than a citrus scent.
For me this was really pleasant. Aside from Hermann, which I feel is quite similar in style, I’ve never smelled anything like it. For my personal taste it leans a bit too far green; I prefer the more juicy citrus or a stronger, more pronounced floral or ambergris, but there are many options for those. If you’re looking for a great calming scent for the Summer, Avanto is one to put on your list to check out.
