‘This rosy, fresh perfume leads you deep into an empathetic understanding of the olfactory language of plants. Use a couple of sprays on your pulse points to refresh your mind and body. Hand blended in a small atelier in the Netherlands with all things natural in our minds, hearts and noses. Attract is based on the ways flowers attract pollinators with their floral scent molecules. The fragrance of bees and butterflies who encounter a Bulgarian rose.’ – Lingua Planta
I adored wearing Attract, although it is also completely different from what I was expecting. The brand positions it as a floral scent with a ‘rosy, fresh perfume’, but patchouli is easily the stand-out note here to me.
For a patchouli, it is rather fresh and you get a tinge of rose, but to me, the entire composition is dominated by a relatively light, spicy patchouli. The spiciness reminiscent of cola spices, with some peppery and sweeter cinnamon sides. Immortelle also has these sweeter facets, although I (luckily) don’t get the cardamom/cumin-esque spiciness that immortelle also brings to the table sometimes.
The floral facet feels more green, rather than the way patchouli itself can get green. Here, the patchouli feels almost completely earthy and spicy, whereas the florals add a mix of green and red/pink petals. This only comes across for some minutes for me.
Attract gets rather sweet, rather soon; doubling down on what I perceive to be a cola-ish scent. Closest reference in my collection is definitely Areej Le Dore Indonesian Oud; they come across very similar on my skin. Which means Attract is an excellent find and I look forward to trying the others from this house.
