BERDOUES
ARZ EL-RAB
2015
PERFUMER
Cyrill Rolland
Ginger
Iris
Cedarwood
Arz El-Rab is my introduction to Berdoues and it’s a pleasant and enjoyable one, albeit a rather underwhelming drydown.
The opening is dominated by ginger, which I always enjoy. It’s a very citrussy take on ginger and the opening is the best part of Arz El-Rab. After the initial minutes, I get a nutty, woody iris that barely smells like iris, but more like the base note, cedar. What you’re left with it a generic cedar scent for the remainder of the wear.
It’s available often at prices just about €50 for a bottle, so that’s more than fair.
