Arome 3 was released in 1943 Arome 3 (1943) • D’ORSAY. It was reformulated in 1995 Arome 3 (1995) • D’ORSAY.

Arome 3 is a different scent profile from the newer Arome 3 Tradition (1998) • D’ORSAY.

Some concise notes from my testing of a vintage Arome 3 (I wore it alongside a newer Arome 3).

This vintage miniature was still rather sharp and surprisingly minty. The lemon however, seems to have lost a lot of its acidity. A green and refreshing fragrance that gave me ‘Sports flanker vibes’. Smelling perhaps more like 80’s/90’s perfumes than older vintages. Traditionally masculine leaning. As it dries, there’s a coumarin-esque, fougere sweetness and frankly, the fragrances goes off the rails a bit here. Presumably it went bad due to the aging? In the late drydown I get a weird dog-hairy hint along with a more spicy base.
