This is merely a first impression. Arabian Oud is probably the hardest Lumira to pinpoint for me. Both in what I’m smelling and in how much I like it.
You must try this on skin and not on paper. On paper, it’s a contradictory scent, with brighter top notes and a smoky, woody base. However, on skin, the brighter notes are barely standing up against the heavier ones.
You get the woods from the start and I’m happy to report that the cypriol doesn’t overshadow the composition for me (it can be very harsh and it’s one of my least favorite notes). Still, it’s a pretty heavy and harsh woodiness; a combination of woods with a smoky and ambery tinge. Leans very fast masculine.
Bergamot, orange, floral notes and rose are listed and I can’t say I detect any of those particularly strong. It has a rose-oud like tinge as it dries.
