‘An aquatic floral accord, inspired by the Arno River, meets traces of paper and wood to commemorate the sixtieth anniversary of the 1966 Florence flood. Limited edition, available exclusively in select Santa Maria Novella stores. The fragrance is dedicated to the “Mud Angels,” the thousands of young volunteers who rushed to Florence to save artworks, books, and documents from the Arno flood. A crystalline, vegetal freshness opens to an aquatic, floral heart, illuminated by the mineral nuances of wet stone. The base is soft and clean. Angeli di Firenze was created in 2006 for the fortieth anniversary of the flood. Twenty years later, the limited-edition Eau de Parfum was presented for the sixtieth. In 1966, water also reached the Santa Maria Novella church at Via della Scala 16, damaging its laboratories, warehouses, and historical archives. The packaging is made of art paper, raw canvas, and wooden frames—the same materials as the rescued paintings and documents. The illustration shows the Angels bathed in light, surrounded by swirling clouds inspired by the floodwaters.’ – Santa Maria Novella via Fragrantica
