3+5 is my first dive into D’Otto, although that may not be as new of an experience as it sounds, as this is one of my brands run by Tiziana Terenzi. 3+5 is really nice, although reminding me of better alternatives.
What sticks out here is the almond. It’s a floral fragrance, with a ton of almond (and here you can of course also see the coconut and vanilla). If you’re familiar with Liquides Imaginaires Blanche Bete, Benigna Premier Amour or Noeme Paris Aman, you will know this type of floral-sweet combination. At the end of the day, they all feel like descendants of Dior Hypnotic Poison. However, in the D’Otto it’s a lot less creamy lactonic and more dry and sharp, especially when compared to Blanche Bete. The almond is even more pronounced and it goes in a more gourmand direction overall, with a hint of that stemmy, green floral (lily-of-the-valley most forward to my mind).
I personally like this scent profile a lot; I named Aman as one of my favorite discoveries in 2023. 3+5 trails behind, but is still solid.
