‘Lingering summer heat leaving on the skin the trace of a never-ending summer. An accord of white flowers, musks and fruits. Not a breath of wind. The air burns… It’s 32°C. The sun presses down on the skin. A tuberose, majestic and narcotic, softened by the freshness of a crisp pear.’ – Ormaie Paris
When I tried the duo of L’Ivree Nuit and 32° in store, I figured that I would like LIvree Nuit more. After a proper wearing, the opposite is the case. 32° is a much more contained, classical fragrances to me and ultimately, a much more enjoyable and classy wear.
I don’t quite get the proposed vibe of summer heat and burning air; I find 32° airy, fresh, white musky… nothing resembling ‘heat’, but I think that’s a strength.
The opening was dominated by a bright, sharp, fresh tuberose on my skin. Not quite bubblegummy, but definitely not a thick, fleshy tuberose either. More on the aromatic, sage-like side. Not as green as Frederic Malle Carnal Flower, but for a moment I though that 32° would go in that direction (it doesn’t).
However, as it starts to dry, the tuberose becomes less prominent to my nose and more of a fruity, citrussy edge remains with a laundry detergent, clean linen, white musk overtakes completely. Clean laundry with a moderately sweet, but bright, Sunny, fruity tinge, which makes for a very pleasant drydown that lasts well.
The later hours of the wear remind me a lot of PureDistance Divanche, which is easily one of the best releases of 2025, so 32° definitely trails behind that, but it’s still a strong thumbs up overall for me.
