Iconic Feminine and Iconic Masculine are a duo of releases for Clive Christian’s 20th anniversary. Both of them seem to have been ill received by most reviewers, so I was wondering what is going on (as I like most Clive Christian releases).

And I do enjoy both of these, but I can see where the criticism arises. Both the feminine and masculine counterparts are rather simple and mass appealing. Perhaps not what one expects for this price point and for a ‘iconic’ anniversary launch. However, I do find them to be quite nice myself.

The Iconic Feminine is a honeyed floral. The florals are watery and understated in my opinion. I do not find it feminine leaning much to be honest.

Plum skin, a tiny hint of rubbery saffron, but mostly an airy and watery violet. Mild in contrast and vibrancy.

The star of the show is the sweetness. A slightly herbal, semi-sweet honey is drenched over it to make for a much more comforting and exciting wear. Not gourmand, as the overall composition leans heavily floral.

I did not fall in love with this by any means, but it’s a nice perfume that I’d gladly wear. I don’t think this is overly generic at all either. I prefer the Iconic Masculine, but I think objectively the Iconic Feminine is more interesting of a release.
