Masar was reformulated with perfumer Andreas Wilhelm in 2023. According to Pernoire the composition for Masar has changed significantly from the 2021 release (contrary to Vitias and Tierra, who remained more faithful to their originals).
Masar is a deceivingly strong, dry woody amber with the most animalic vibe of the three 2021 Pernoire releases. This reminds me hot dusty air. It does also have a cleaner or fresher element and that contrast isn’t working for me.
I think it could be the honey, but I’m not sure. There’s a slight resemblance to the colder, less sweet honey you find in Unique’e Luxury Beverly Hills Exclusive. Masar makes me think of capturing foot-burning hot desert sand…as an air freshener and it’s my least favorite of the brand’s starting line-up.
