1270 Extreme is 2022 flanker to the original 1270, which I haven’t tried, so I can’t make a comparison. What I can do, is tell you all my thoughts on 1270 Extreme.
This fragrance has been a great surprise to me. From the very first spray I knew I would like it. The opening is rather interesting with a bright pineapple and apple absolutely drenched in a sweet thick coating. The fruits are pronounced, but it’s not like having a fresh punchy citrus opening to a fragrance, it’s definitely on the sweeter, heavier and denser side, despite the brightness of the fruits.
Surprisingly, I don’t think there’s any boozy notes listed, but it definitely comes across very boozy to my nose. It’s a smooth concoction of melting fruits, honey and creamy tonka on top of a wooden board.
Any brightness of the fruits fades within the first 30-60 minutes on my skin, but you’re left with a slight dried fruit tinge. The sweetness is very strong, but it’s the kind that I like; almost chocolate-like and mixed in with the honey and booziness… okay, maybe still with sugar poured over it, but it’s not as sugary and cloying like a Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540 for example. Maybe more along the line of Nasomatto Baraonda.
What makes this fragrance for me is the blending and texture. While velvety smooth, soft and creamy on one hand, it’s also dense and it performs well on my skin and there’s a bit of a roasted quality. I’ve heard from a lot of people that the original 1270 didn’t last well, so to me it seems like the Extreme tackled that issue successfully.
